Yesterday one of the biggest movies of the year ‘Toilet: Ek Prem Katha’ starring Akshay Kumar and Bhoomi Pednekar was released. After the Box office failures of big films like ‘Tubelight’, ‘Jagga Jasoos’ and ‘Jab Harry Met Sejal’, ‘Toilet: Ek Prem Katha’ was the next ray of hope for the Industry and luckily it didn’t disappoint. The movie got an amazing response both from the audience and the critics.
As expected the movie made in a decent budget, opened with good numbers on the first day, it was released on 3000 screens in India and managed to collect 13.10 crores on the first day, now, obviously 11 crores is not a very good number for a big film like ‘Toilet: Ek Prem Katha’, but that’s what Akshay Kumar films do, it grows by time. It is for sure that the movie will grow with its collection the second and third day.
Akshay’s last release ‘Jolly LLB 2’ was also opened with around same numbers and went on to become one of the most successful films of the year, same thing is looking for ‘Toilet: Ek Prem Katha’, the movie had the political support and also the support from the whole industry and it helped the movie. It is the satirical take on Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s ‘Swach Bharat Abhiyan’ campaign.
As we predict the movie will earn around 14-15 crores on the second and the third day, it got the attention from the audience and quite frankly it should get that attention, this is not only for the villagers but everyone should watch this. It has many messages from which we can learn.
Akshay Kumar will be seen in ‘2.O’ featuring Rajinikanth. Akshay will be seen as the antagonist in the movie.
