The movie ‘Super Singh’ the first Sikh superhero movies released on the 16th of June 2017. The movie made in a budget of around Rs10 crore is said to be the cheapest Super Hero movie of the county.
The movie is a story of a Sikh Superhero who doesn’t take himself and his powers seriously. ‘Super Singh’ character is played by the Punjabi Superstar Diljit Dosanjh and his female lead has been played by Sonam Bajwa.
Diljit Dosanjh, who has recently starred in two Bollywood movies, ‘Udta Punjab’ and ‘Phillauri’ has got a fan following amongst Hindi cinema lovers too and that is one of the reasons why the movie even though is entirely in Punjabi, has been accepted well in the Hindi speaking cities.
The day wise Box Office collection of the movie for the weekend goes like this Rs. 1.80 crore on its opening day, Friday, Rs. 2.05 crore on Saturday and Rs. 1.90 crore on Sunday and the Total collection for the weekend is Rs. 5.75 crore.
The movie is directed by Balaji Motion Pictures and directed by Anurag Singh. Anurag has worked thrice before with Diljit and has delivered some of Punjabi cinema’s biggest blockbusters— ‘Jatt & Juliet’ (2012) and ‘Jatt & Juliet 2’ (2013).
Like the earlier two movies of the actor and director duo, the movie ‘Super Singh’ also stands out at the box office and has done equally well as the other two Bollywood releases on the day ‘Bank Chor’ and ‘Phullu’.
